Three fish! The fourth got away, but we had fresh sashimi on the spot, planning Big Eye curry, Big Eye soup, grilled Big Eye and panko Big Eye in the coming days. Movie night as we approach Punta Mala. No wind so far, hoping for something as we round the “Bad Point.”
Nope, nothing all night. Just the drone of the motors under the full moon.
Yayoi and I got up at 6:30 am for our 7:00 am shift, threw the jib out and sailed with one engine keeping our speed up to 6.5 knots. The jib barely pulled, so when it started slatting a bit more we rolled it back in a couple hours later.
9:15 am: Marlin jumping! And a couple hours later: Dolphins! They must have been unimpressed with us since they only played in our bow wave for a few passes before going back to their tuna fishing.
