Crew Duties

When racing Siren, we should have a full complement of six crew.

Each member has their own specific duties to perform. The better we perform those duties as a crew and the better we work together, the faster the boat will be. These duties should be well defined with little to no overlap. Our goal is to be as efficient as possible while making no mistakes.

However, nobody is perfect and mistakes will always be made. Try to stick to your own duties while helping others learn their duties. For example, if a new crew member wraps the jib sheet counter-clockwise around the winch, don’t just fix it. Stay at your position and communicate the issue with the Jib crew. Time permitting, let them correct their own mistake so they learn more effectively by doing it the correct way themselves.
