Siren is a 1978 Cal 39. She’s a monohull and likes to heel. 18 degrees is her happy spot. As a racer/cruiser, she is built tough but fast with a fin keel and spade rudder for performance. She comes with lots of storage and gear for long voyages and can safely make transoceanic passages in rough seas. The beam is narrower than a similar sized Catalina sacrificing some comfort for speed.
Our maintenance program focuses more on safety, performance and reliability than beauty, but she still looks great with that shiny blue top-side paint and teak interior.
Siren is well set up for inter-island sailing. In addition to all USCG required safety gear, a dinghy, self-steering, big fuel and water tanks, registered EPIRB, radios and navigation equipment are all included. Lee cloths for catching up on rest while off watch, bluetooth music system for entertainment, binoculars for whale-watching and a hand line for catching Mahi-Mahi. We even have a sextant and sight reduction tables for navigating by the sun and stars if you’d like to learn and/or practice the methods used in the Age of Sail before electronic calculators.
